Deleting your weBiller account
Last updated August 15, 2026
You can delete your weBiller account yourself, from the app, in under a minute. You do not have to ask us and you do not have to explain why. This page is here because Google Play requires the instructions to exist somewhere you can read without installing anything, but the steps are the real ones.
Export first: there is no undo
Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no recycle bin, no thirty-day window and no way for us to bring an account back once it is gone. If you need any of it, take it before you start.
Settings → Export data gives you invoices, clients, payments, expenses and suppliers as CSV, and the whole account as a single JSON file. Individual invoices, quotes and credit notes also download as PDF and as UBL 2.1 XML, which is the format accounting software imports without retyping. An invoice you sent a client is a record you may be legally required to keep for years, in most of Europe between seven and ten. Deleting your account does not change that obligation, it just removes our copy.
How to delete it
Both routes do exactly the same thing and either one is enough, and you do not need to do both.
- Android app: More → My account → Delete account, then confirm with your password.
- Web, at webiller.com: Account → Delete account, then confirm with your password.
- Signed up with Google or Apple and never set a password? Same two routes — you confirm by signing in with that provider again instead of typing a password.
- No longer able to sign in, so neither route is open to you? Email us from the address on the account and we will delete it for you. We will ask you to prove you control that address, because otherwise anyone could close your account by asking.
What gets deleted
Everything hanging off the account goes with it, in the same instant. Not marked hidden, not anonymised: the rows are removed.
- Your account: email address, name, avatar, password hash, language and theme settings, and every session you have open.
- Any Google or Apple account linked to it: the identifier that provider gave us, the address it told us about, and when it was linked. We never held your Google or Apple password, and deleting here does not touch your account with them.
- Your businesses: profiles, logos, bank details, VAT and registration numbers, invoice numbering and templates.
- Your clients and suppliers, with their contact details, notes and payment terms.
- Every document: invoices, quotes, credit notes, subscriptions, payment plans, payments, expenses, projects, time entries and catalog items, with their line items and history.
- Every file you uploaded or the app generated for you: logos, avatars, receipts, attachments and rendered PDFs.
- Your notification tokens, API keys, webhooks, saved filters and connections to other weBiller users.
What outlives the delete, and for how long
Three things, none of which is your business data, and all of which are short-lived. Stating them because a page that claimed nothing survives would be wrong.
- One security-log row recording that an account with your email address was deleted, and the IP address the request came from. It is what lets us answer "was this me?" if the deletion was not you. A daily job removes it 90 days later.
- Routine database backups at our hosting provider, which are taken on their schedule and roll off on it. A deleted row can persist in one for a short period before the backup itself expires. It is not queryable by us in the ordinary course.
- Records of anything our own staff did to the account, which are kept longer on purpose: that trail exists to hold us accountable, so it does not roll off on the 90-day clock.
What is not yours to delete
If you sent a document to another weBiller user (an invoice they received, a quote they were asked to sign), their copy is their record, and it stays in their account. The same is true in reverse: a supplier invoice you received stays with you if they close their account.
Deleting your account does not withdraw an invoice you already sent, and it does not cancel what a client owes you or what you owe a supplier. It closes your account, nothing more.
